I saw Sharon today for the follow and things were good. We discussed future long-term goals (Summer 2009), things I've done well, things I need to improve on. All in all though, a very productive and positive meeting.
First off, my goal of achieving 300lbs or less by January 1st still seems very reasonable, if not, I'll be very close to it. My goal for Summer 2009 is to be 270lbs. That'll be an additional 30 lbs after the beginning of the year, or 6 months. That'll be a loss of 5lbs per month. This may not seem too significant, but I plan on getting back into my weight training, so I'm also factoring in the weight mass that I will be gaining.
Things I've done well so far... Well, basically staying focused on eating right. That is first and foremost. Weighed in today at 313.8 lbs. That is the official weigh-in. The Wii is used to just gauge performance, more or less, rather than obtaining actual results. This would mean that since our last meet, I've lost 12.2 lbs from the 326.0 lbs I weighed back in November. So, since October 15, 2008, I've lost a total of 26.4 lbs from just eating right. Hopefully with the weight training, I'll start looking trimmer now.
With that being said, what I need to work on is just that, training. I've missed out on my weekly swimming and anything else that's physically active. I'll be at my parent's house for the next few weeks, so hopefully that'll allow me to go to the pool more often, and use the weights my dad bought me years ago that still look brand-spanking new.
I'm still very pleased with how successful I've been over the past few weeks. I'm still getting new people coming to me stating how I've got them started on a new diet, or taking strides to a better lifestyle. Makes me feel...well, more motivated to stay on track. For those who read this, and you tell me that I helped inspire you some how, I take that to heart because I really do appreciate you all telling me this, as I mentioned, because it helps me stay on my diet. Not even a diet, it is a change of lifestyle!
A friend of mine encouraged me to keep a photo-log of my progression, so I'll post pics of myself on here over the course of my journey to a new, healthier me. If not a weekly update on the pics, most definitely monthly after I see Sharon. I see her the Tuesday after Martin Luther King's Day. Wish me luck!
